dvd to vhs

i have my dvd piped through my video so i can tape a dvd if i want to ,ive found i can tape most dvd 's but some just wont work and make my video go really srange ,anyone else found this or is it a conflict between my vcr and dvd player ?or some kind of copywrite protection?

Its the Macrovision copy protection system you can get a box that will disable it - take a look in some of the specialist Audio/video mags

A lot of audio dealers will sell a "copy booster" box that will stripp off the Macrovision signal, too.
