I gave up and bought a new printer. I thought I had removed the software for the old one (HP C2580) so when I disposed of it I got rid of the CD too.
Now every time I switch on the PC the TrayApp.msi error appears and I can't get rid of it.
I've looked at various forums and they all seem to need the CD/software to solve the problem. Is there an way I could get rid of the error without one as I don't have it any more?

As I see it, your problem is that the drivers for your Old Printer are still in your PC and are conflicting with your New Printer. I think you need to remove all traces of your Old Printer from your Computer.

Click open your Control Panel and search for Programmes/Features/ Uninstall a programme. Search the list for the Drivers of your HP C2580 and duly remove.

Thanks both.
Sorry about the delay in replying.
Your help is appreciated.
I've tried the first option but still have the problem.
I'll try the other option now.
Fingers crossed.
