WICK LOW
I thought that was in Ireland though
^unless it's more cryptic than that and it's a reference to a Scottish term
FF Wick(town in Scotland) + low(shabby) = Wicklow(county)
Wick is a county town factor in Scotland and low for shabby?
Sorry should also say welcome to answerbank Roothy!

Makes sense. Wicklow is a county isnt it. many thanks.

Wick is a Scottish County Town, then it's cryptic

See definition 2
I think it was a county town at one time, but I think the county bit refers to Wicklow in Ireland rather than to Wick
FF Explanation given at 10.05
Yes, thanks dannyk but I was responding to all those who gave incorrect explanations after you gave your excellent explanation
OK.
Thanks. I just wondered why you addressed your comment to me again rather than to others
Yours was the last post.

FGS!!!!!
I think we can be pretty sure Wicklow is right
Play nicely :o)

Looking on the bright side, at least we got it right, probably!
