I had a singles jab last year.I had no problems,neither did two of my friends who had it.

I know of quite a few people who have had this jab and they had no side effects whatsoever. Take it, you won't regret it. Shingles is a ghastly thing to get.

Is it worth having the jag if you've already had shingles ?
(Had it many years ago and emphatically do not want to get it again.)

One can get shingles more than once.

Will give the matter some thought as I'm not the appropriate age to get one from my GP.

Yes Psybbo, I am 2 years younger than the age (70), but knowing someone who had shingles (at 62), I persisted as the doctor's receptionist didn't know what I was on about, and got a private prescription. Then I found a chemist who ordered the vaccine, he charged me £100 and then back to the surgery where the nurse was "allowed" to give me the jab. I have not had any side effects at all.

Hi Whirley, I was offered and accepted the shingles jab as I'd hit the magic milestone, no ill effects. I was asking on behalf of a few friends, 75, 80 and 83

Ok Psyboo, it's this "age malarkey", I suppose it all boils down to cost for the NHS.
