Convinced Its Serious - Really Worried Sick.
8 Answers
I went to my doctor on Tuesday about some symptoms ive had for a short while ie severe abdominal pains/cramps, bloating, upset tummy, and he said it might be IBS but unlikely at my age and said he would send me for a scan to see if anything else was going on. I got a letter today for next week, which seems incredibly quick and on it it says Ultrasound scan ovarian pathology. Now I'm not daft - he's clearly hoping to rule out ovarian cancer, but I've really stupidly looked up the symptoms and Ive got every single one - not even convinced myself that I have - I really do have. Im now sat here feeling totally sick with dread and don't know what to do with myself.

Ovarian problems can include, but are not limited to, cancer.
Women's plumbing is a mysterious and complex thing. There are all manner of things that he will want to rule out - fibroids, cysts, etc. And these can *all* present as IBS......I have personal experience.
In the space of a few short weeks I have gone from visiting GP with shoulder-pain to MRI scan to appointment with surgeon.......I just take it that things have speeded up in the NHS in this area.
Relax.....xx
