Aerial Connections
4 Answers
Hi I wonder if anyone can help..I have sky tv in the main sitting room and I am trying to play it through tv in another room. I have fed an aerial through from RF OUT in sky box to Aerial In in other tv but despite retuning, it is not picking any channels up. This is a dual cable, the same as one from Sky box to Sky dish, should I be using a single aerial cable instead? Appreciate any advice..thanks

My normal Freeview box just uses bog standard cable between aerial and box. Meanwhile there isn't a switch or setting that activates the signal out is there ? I'd have thought not, but worth checking.
The connection between the Sky box RF out and the TV aerial input should be a standard screened co-ax cable (aerial cable).
If you can manually tune the TV, you should be able to locate the Sky box output by stepping through the rf channels; normally channel 36 is the default setting – remember that the Sky box must be on (not in standby) to activate the rf output.
If you have access to a multimeter, check that there is not a short circuit in the co-ax cable (should measure open circuit from the centre pin to the plug shroud). If you can bring both ends of the co-ax cable together, check that there is continuity between the ends.
Also try connecting the main TV in the sitting room via the rf output.

Also check that the RF output channel on your digibox is set to 'on'
