Maybe it is not bad managers or bad players but bad owners.
Harry Redknapp had got Spurs into the Champions league, but was sacked (???) and replaced with Andre Villas Boas.
After just over a year he was sacked to be replace by Tim Sherwood, who himself was sacked 6 months later, to be replaced by Pochettino.
Makes you wonder what would have happened had Redknapp stayed.

Harry took Spurs as far as he could ..Yes The Spurs management try to get someone who has been successful elsewhere thinking they will bring that to White Hart Lane . Never works .I would have kept Tim a while longer a manager out to prove himself not someone who has and can sit back on their laurels .I would have waited on Tim .
Don't know why either ,Kane not paid enough to take off the bench. They have a decent goalkeeper its the out field players are not good enough. AB bought some awful players did he not . The spurs players did not swap shirts at half time cause the Newcastle players would not wear them .Roll on 2016/17 can see one year making any difference to this mob .
Actually I have just looked at Spurs last five seasons they have finished in the Premier league as follows:
2009/10 - 4th
2010/11 - 5th
2011/12 - 4th
2012/13 - 5th
2013/14 - 6th
Seems fairly decent to me.
Obviously you would prefer a few seasons to be better than that, 2nd or 3rd (or even winners).
But you say you have had "terrible managers" but terrible managers don't get you league positions like that.
Trouble is teams who generally finish above you like Man C and Chelsea have very very rich owners, and Man U have a huge income.
