Any Mac Users Around Please?

Got a new iMac recently, and am gradually coping with all the updated stuff.
One thing, however, is driving me batty.
EVERY 15 minutes I get a message coming up, and until I put in a password, I can't continue with what I'm doing.
The message reads ...."calendar agent wants to use the "login" password".
Any ideas how I can get rid of this please?

ferlew - my PC died and I started using my MacBook again. It takes a bit of getting used to - and in the last few weeks I have gone from Snow Leopard to Maverick to Yosemite.

I share your pain. They are brilliant machines but so different from Windows.

which calendar does it want to use? I had the problem because calendar was trying to link to yahoo's calendar. As I don't use yahoo (BT's) calendar I just disabled it in accounts and all fixed.

Woofgang, I'm not sure what it's asking for, it sometimes comes up with the same message, but saying Address agent (or similar).

Fanriffic - I printed off that reply from Linc, and went through t step by step.
I'll come back in half an hour and let you know whether it worked. Fingers crossed.

Anybody got any views on Yosemite please. Is it worth updating from Mavericks?

Ladybirder Ive last years macbook pro and updated to Yosemite and no problems. Best thing is the big improvement to Safari 8.

I hadn't realised till I bought the new one, my previous iMac I had bought in early 2005, how's that for value? The only reason I needed a new one, was my screen was breaking up, and was out of production to replace. 17.5" - smallest now is 21.5. (YW Fanriffic, it was a great reply)

Thanks Jomlett, I'm always loathe to change what is working perfectly well but if it improves Safari I'll do it tomorrow.

I find that yosemite has sped up both my imac and 2 mac book airs, especially in boot up and shut down.
