Vacuum Cleaner for Pet hair - PLEASE HELP!
14 Answers
I am getting VERY desperate!
I need a good vacuum cleaner which actualy hoovers pet hair. I have a golden retriever (as you can imagine, her hair is everywhere) and in the last 2 months I bought 2 hoovers - which are completely useless for pet hair - one is Dirt Devil and the other is Vax Ultrixxxx - they both were suppose to fit the purpouse - but they both failed.
I need something powerful, bagless and with the rotating brush. If anybody has any suggestions I will be very grateful.

I too was at my wits end trying to find a vacuum that would pick up my GSx dog hair. I've been through loads of them but have now got the Dyson Animal - it's fantastic! I tried the upright Dyson without sucsess. This one is a cylinder with a rotating brush and I've just bought the small rotating brush for the stairs and car.
You don't have to replace the filters either which is a bonus!

May I offer you a simple emergency method for removing pet hair from the sides of furniture, off the backs of sofas, etc. Put on a dishwashing glove, wet it, then rub the fabric, towards you. It will instantly pull all of the hair forward.
We use an Electrolux bagless. It works well and there is usually what looks like a hand-woven jumper that swirls around in the dust-catcher. We also find that after the first vacuum, spray some febreze on the carpet, then vacuum over it again. That will pick up any remaining errant hair.
We vacuum early each morning, just in case. So if you tend to vacuum once or twice a week, you may wish to try a daily alternative as a just in case. We only have a Jack Russell, but sometimes Id swear he spends the night in front of a mirror tweezing himself!
Good luck
