Hi,

I have half a bagged salad left and as I am shopping on a budget, I don't want to waste it. I keep all sorts of things in such as fruit, nuts, sweet potatos, seeds, pasta, but completely stuck and would like to use it before it goes bad. Also keep frozen veg.

Any suggestions would be helpful

thanks

I put a sheet of kitchen roll in the bagged salad and pop it back in the fridge. The paper soaks up the moisture which is released by the salad once the bag is opened. It keeps like that for a couple nore days.
Cook a chicken and have chicken salad.

Thanks, really looking for something to make with it. But will remember that tip!
:-)
You don't say much about your diet.
Maybe you could make a frittata and serve it with leaves and a simple dressing.
You could mix the leaves with chopped toasted nuts and mushrooms sauteed in olive oil.
You could wilt into flavoured noodles for a quick chow mein.
Just lob on a few bits of tomato, a few olives, a few cubes of feta cheese and a drizzle of olive oil. Yum.
Bake your sweet potato and have the salad on the side sprinkled with seeds.
If you are on a budget why on earth are you buying bagged salad?
It's nice with new spuds.
diddlydo, you try buying whole salad veg for one or two and see how expensive it turns out to be.
Nothing lasts more than a day or two and I'd rather buy bagged, varied salad than throw away three different types of lettuces.
Sometimes convenience is cheaper.
Agreed frog. Love salad but it is expensive if buying for one.
