All day (since 8am) I've received up to now 6 cold calls and the latest (09:29) call has somewhat upset me.
"Hello can I speak with a Mrs * &&&&&", 'Sorry she's not available at the moment, who is it please?'. "Can I be speaking with Mr ^ &&&&&?", 'No, can I ask who is calling please', "If I'm not talking with Mr or Mrs &&&&& why should I tell you who I am?". He then immediately hung up. It wasn't so much as him not telling me who he was (or is working for) but the shear fact his response was in an arrogant manner.
Had this been a call that my mother or step father had actually wanted to receive the person on the other end of the phone would of said which company they are from. I've never had a cold caller be so rude when I wasn't.
Anyone had this sort of cold call treatment recently?
2sp_: Thanks and I appreciate you posting the link. Unfortunately I can't use them as we have a fax machine which is the device we answer from. I can live with the calls (after a few rants on here) however my step father (when or if he ever gets out of hospital) can't. He won't use a wireless/cordless phone. He's a dinosaur!
2sp_: What I could do, I suppose, is make sure that I had one of those handsets in my pocket at all times and when the phone rings (while my step dad is present) answer it immediately. He's fine speaking on one but not answering on one. He's a dinosaur and my mother is a fossil.
