Recently my headlights have stopped working. The bulbs are fine, but one lamp doesn't work and the other is only on half beam.

It happened the other day coming back from town, the wierd thing is the next day they worked, but now it's not working again.

The car is a 1994 Peugeot 306

Any ideas?

Sounds to me that it is either a loose connection, or an "earthing problem". Check that you have a good earth where the wire connects to the lamp holder.

Good luck.

Yes, as the last answer says, unconnect and reconnect all the connecter plugs you can find that take power to the headlights.

One at a time!

Most likely it is the earth terminal at the bulb, they often become loose from a number of bulb changes, overheat and burn out. Should be obvious when you unplug the bulb. You can cut back the burnt part and crimp a new single terminal on but you need the right size for the bulb.
