Someone I know does double camouflage - and his and hers with his missus. IMO worse than 'double denim'.

I used to wear one for work just after i left the army. Not to look tough or pretend/wish i was still in uniform but because they were/are hard-wearing and very practical for outdoor work.

can actually understand in the kinds of pubs and clubs that need a bouncer. Idiots will find any excuse to start a ruck especially if you are perceived to be a soldier and therefore hard. What do you mean by car attendant?

As it is Russian military and is posted from the Ukraine I would want to check out a photo of the back of the coat before purchase. Bullet holes??

Hopkirk, it is a very nice hat and marginally cheaper than my panama but possibly too dressy for rural France.

Seems to me to be yet another thing some folk can get over-sensitive about. A few threads about over-sensitivity on the forums today. Who should care what pattern coat one wears ?
