// MPs reacted with fury at being denied the chance to directly cast a vote on the European Arrest Warrant, suggesting David Cameron's apparent promise to put the issue to MPs this month had been broken.

The row comes after David Cameron appeared to promise that MPs would be allowed to vote on the measure at Prime Minsters's Questions last month.

Labour will give MPs a chance to vote on the controversial European Arrest Warrant (EAW) the day before a crucial by-election in Rochester and Strood.
The move comes amid fury from Tory backbenchers over how they were denied a vote on the measure during a shambolic Commons session on Monday.
There were chaotic scenes in Westminster as MPs accused the Government of underhand tactics during a debate on whether Britain should rejoin 35 EU police and justice directives. //

It's politics.
I don't trust any party to keep any promise. I trust them to look after their own interests (and personal careers).
We can't even trust some Conservatives to remain as Conservatives.
Is it going to be a very hot weekend?
I would suggest that it it is precisely because they are conservatives that they have left the Conservative party.
NO !!
if what they do /did is illegal there is a problem if not then that Is what politics is .cant put it any cleared than that then .
I'm with old geezer on this. I don't trust any party to keep their promises on anything.

It'd be as daft as believing everything you read in the papers is gospel truth.
...but I thought the DM was Holy Writ. Am I wrong?
It changes so much all the time
I cant quite recollect what THE promise on Europe was ?

stay in ? get out? agree to wait and see ?
As I have written on here many times before: No I dont trust them.
At least you can trust dishonest people to be dishonest. It's the 'honest' ones you should watch out for.
Not directly connected with the thread topic, but I offer it as evidence that some Tories can't even SAY the word, 'promise' in connection with any European matter! I'm referring to the video of Theresa May losing control of her mouth during a radio interview. The very word was forming on her lips when she suddenly seemed to remember she had been specifically warned - I imagine - to say no such incendiary word at any price. Priceless!

'No, no and thrice NO!' to paraphrase Mr. F. Howerd. That goes for labs and the rump as well.
Sorry, I meant the soothsayer associated with F.H's series.
Yes, Senna the soothsayer, played by Jean Mockford, jourdain.
Thank you N.J.!
