Took my son to the cinema this afternoon. Settled down in to our seats when a couple of women took their seats directly behind us. The lights dimmed and the adverts and trailers began. Then it STARTED...The women got the crisps out. Ruste, rustle, crunch, crunch. Ok, it was only the adverts and trailers, the film hadnt started yet. Then the film started and it was like a siren call to get the food out. The couple on my left started the 'rustle, rustle' of food wrappers and then others. The women directly behind me carried this on for the next hour, it was driving me crackers. Trying to watch a movie with my son (a rare treat at the best of times) and all I could hear was 'rustle, munch, crunch, chomp, rustle, rustle.'
I suggest that food should be banned in cinemas like smoking and the use of phones. Or am I been a killjoy?
I love to go a-wandering,
Along the mountain track,
And as I go, I love to sing,
My knapsack on my back.
Chorus:
Val-deri,Val-dera,
Val-deri,
Val-dera-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha
Val-deri,Val-dera.
My knapsack on my back.
I never go to the cinema nowadays purely for this reason. People just don't behave in a cinema. They eat, chatter, make/receive phone calls, drop old food packets on the floor. The noise, the smell... it's just not worth it.
