Does anyone know whether it would be easy to get from Euston to heathrow at about 8 o'clock on a Saturday morning using the tube as I'm sure taxi prices would be to much for us. Have not been to London for years.

Yes, shouldn't be a great problem and certainly MUCH cheaper than a taxi
easiest probably Euston to Paddington on the tube then Heathrow Express.
Euston to Kings Cross on Victoria Line then Piccadilly Line to Heathrow. Probably takes just over an hour. If you take the Heathrow Express you will pay more
which way you go depends on which Saturday, and how much luggage you're carrying. check here to see which lines are subject to closures over the next few weeks:-

taking the tube to Paddington (for heathrow express/heathrow connect) either requires a walk to Euston Square, or a change at oxford circus; if you instead go tube all the way, go northern line to Leicester square then Piccadilly line (as the transfer tunnel from the Victoria line at green park is quite long). if your train stops at Watford junction, alight there and take the 724 airbus direct to heathrow in 55mn.

Easiest tube route is to take the Victoria Line from Euston to Green Park and change there for the Piccadilly Line to Heathrow

The route via Paddington/Heathrow Express is mega expensive - indeed a (prebooked) taxi could well come out at a comparable cost particularly if there are more than two of you
don't forget that if your overall ticket doesn't include onward tube travel from euston, using a contactless credit card can be up to 50% cheaper than a ticket bought at the station. just tap in and out with your credit card on the oyster readers; you can review your journey history here.

Heathrow Express is £21 and takes 21 minutes from Paddington. Heathrow Connect costs £9.90 and takes 32 minutes.

However you must check engineering works for the specific Saturday you need to travel as that can have a major effect upon your best route.
