could someone point me to a link or know the answer to a question I have please..."After how many years should a truck safety air bag be renewed"

Since there are exactly the same chemicals in a truck air bag as there are in one in a car, this should still be relevant:

However this scientific study states that the 'official' lifespan of an airbag is 15 years (and shows that those tested at between 6 and 9 years were still fully functioning):

some vehicles actually state in the service handbook that they should be replaced after 10 years!!!
cant see that happening....
If it's serviceable Slocjo, it will stop in place, this is the same as the Tyres, they will not change them until they either Blow / Illegal / damaged.
It's rather ironic that when a vehicle has its annual safety check, the items most concerned with safety, brakes and air bags, only the brakes can be tested.

vulcan42...ref to your answer..the airbags are tested sort of..The warning lights are tested. i.e. engine management lights..etc.if they stay on or inop..its a mot fail.So could say they are tested..
