Upgrading Ipad Ti Ios8.1

I have had a lot of problems which a computer man has fixed for me but just discovered that I have no typing sound on my iPad air or no sound icon on the dock. It's fine on my mini ipad. Hmmmmm
Any ideas out there pls.

Is the switch on the left hand side showing orange? If so you're on silent.

Also make sure your sound is turned up and that keyboard clicks is enabled in Settings, sounds, scroll down to keyboard clicks and turn on.
