The feds are being 'maintained' ( = fees paid ) by the police fed ( does that mean we pay in the end ?) and I wonder who is bankrolling Andrew Mitchell.
The longest libel trial is Drummond Jackson v BMJ which was over a paper he wrote (!) yes really, doctors at each others' throats until the money ran out. 14 weeks in 1972 I recall
