Go to any good Hi Fi shop or Maplins and explain your problem to them. Maplins sells special speaker cable that you can use to extend the length.

Google Maplin and have a look. Lengthening the cable is very simple to do.

Cowboy.

Yip, the cowboy is right. However, speaker cable is very very cheap to buy, so dont go to the main stores like dixons or maplin, etc as they tend (as is their right, I suppose) to charge an arm and a leg. Go to an ordinary hardware or electronics store and ask for speaker cable. The shop I go to is no larger than my living rom, but they sell everything! They will give you whatever length you want. To connect to your existing length, just twist one of the the wires of your existing cable to the corresponding wire of your new cable (speaker cables have two wires - one which is entirely of a single colour (usually black) and other has a stripe of another colour going through it.) Do the same to the other wire and cover all with insulating tape (so that each wire doesn't touch the other.) And then...ta da! Put the new end wires into your stereo clampy thingy and all shoud work well. Hope this helps!
