Which type of tissues exhibit greater catalase activity?-animal or plant? Why?

The catalase reaction is to reduce the risk of damage by oxygen free radicals. Therefore the greater the risk, the greater the concentration of catalase. Cells that have a high oxygen content, or whose metabolic reactions involve oxygen, must obviously contain high levels of catalase. The higher the rate of metabolism, the greater the need for protection.

Armed with the above information, I leave it to you to work out which tissues will have the greater catalase activity.


So the answer to the question is animals , i hope.


However , I have one more question : What is the optimum temperature range and PH range for catalase to work in ?
