It's nothing in particular, hc. I'm a member of a local selling group on Facebook and notice that people tend to advertise items as still being under warranty.
I thought that the original contract of sale was between the retailer and the person they sold the item to, not any consequent owners.
I've actually got an old teapot from a company that gave out lifetime warranties. I got it in a charity shop for a fiver, they are about £100 quid new. Apparently if you send it to them the will refurbish them free...
