Zanussi Washer/dryer

I have just purchased one second hand. I know it was working. Now that it is connected up in my kitchen it wont run a cycle. It just empties. There is a good water supply connected and no kinks in the pipes. It just whirrs and clicks and then goes back to start. Any ideas please?

Clean the filter

Not an expert but if it drains ok I'd have thought the filter wouldn't be the issue. I'd expect the electronics of going duff. I can't think of any sensor that fools the electronics into 'thinking' the rest of the programme is ended before it's begun. Perhaps it had an intermittent problem so they got rid of it ?
