Incredible story. The Hotel actually charges people an extra £100 if they complain ! I have looked on Trip Advisor this morning, and most of the reviews are awful. Perhaps this place needs to make sure there is less to complain of, rather making money from fines :::::

For £ 36 I'd expect the place to be basic and that's ok but I'd certainly expect it to be clean whatever the price.

Blackpool's a dump, full of grubby hotels like this one housing the workshy/druggies
So says the Director of Tourism for the resort.....
How can you justify that statement Joe? because one Disgusting Hotel lets the rest down, don't tie them all + the town with the same brush.
What is your Area Joe?
Should try Morecambe, Skegness or Newquay then....
Used to live in South Cumbria (so have been to Blackpool (including non-seafront areas) plenty of times), live in Norfolk now
Morecambe went quickly downhill years ago too DTC, used to be a great day out there with kids
Not knocking it Joe but I used to stop in Yarmouth in my driving days, that place was getting the same as B/P/ a lot of the reasons for the decline, its as cheap to go to Spain for a week as what it is to go B.P. and guarantee Sunshine.
TWR....first time I went to Great Yarmouth my first impression was 'like a smaller version of Blackpool but a hell of a lot cleaner/tidier'

Agree that the decline of the English seaside town is down to cheap foreign holidays
I grew up near Carnforth, school in Nether Kellet, before the parents moved back into the Lakes, joeluke,
pst DY ..fancy a dirty weekend ? ... I know a dirty hotel ! ;-)
DT ^^^
Many of our small hotels are now safe houses for unaccompanied minors (refugees).
So do I, minty.....I was looking for a seedy hotel near the Junction of the M1 and M6 that B-Gas Transco once put us up in for a group meeting, there were mirror tiles on the ceilings above the bed - very tacky. Couldn't find it but landed on http://www.libertyelite.co.uk/lower.php?filename=dresscode.php

Very nice and seedy.
that will do .. I will look out my sparkly and boa..you bring the cuffs ..I have the whip ! ....remember the vaseline, remember they chaffe a bit !
If we didn't have bad hotels/hotliers we would never have had Basil Fawlty!
I used to del Cement to that Block Shop in Neither Kellet DT, can not remember the name of the place but it 5 mins out of the village, the give me F.O.C. about 200 Blocks from their yard that they could not use, I erected a wall in our Back Garden for a Patio Area.
Is it lawful that a credit card payment can be taken from your card after you have paid up front and already left the place?
