Faulty Good From Amazon

I know I can check this out tomorrow when I am less tired but I thought I`d just ask. Is it a "faff" to send something back to Amazon? Do you have to use the original packaging?

if you have the amazon packaging re-use it...log onto your account find the ordder you wish to return open return and the procedure to return the said item is there, they usually, in my experience, offer a printable prepaid return label. I have never had any problems.

No it's not a faff for most sellers, though their terms do vary.
Put in a returns request or contact the seller directly through Amazon. Amazon sellers are given a target of 24 hours to respond to Amazon messages.
It depends what you mean by original packaging. The packaging for the item is essential. Things need to be returned in a new condition so they are fir for resale unless the item is faulty or not as described. (the picture being a little bit different is not good enough for this, it has to wildly vary).
The envelope that the item came in is not important and you can send it back in a bin bag as long as it is adequately protected.
If you are buying to try, ALWAYS remove the item packaging carefully and keep it.

Thanks. That`s interesting re the return label as I thought I might need the original invoice which I had cut through the address on before I knew the goods were damaged. What happend was I ordered a couple of books for a christmas present for my sister. I never order anything unless I`m pretty sure that I will be around when it is delivered. I took the 3 - 5 days free postage option but I had an email (while I was away) to say that the books were arriving 36 hours later. No problem as Amazon stated that they would leave with a neighbour, put somewhere secure or take back to the depot. When I came home from work today, they had left the package underneath my outside doormat (which was wet on one side from all of the rain we have been having). The package had been sitting outside in the damp since yesterday morning. The books looked OK from the outside but when I peered inside one of them, quite a few of the pages are wrinkly and it`s obvious that the book has been exposed to damp. I`m not happy and I can`t believe someone would be so stupid as to leave the package outdoors.
