There was a story in the Mirror last week about former British Army men who are in Syria fighting against ISIS. When they return to the UK do they risk finding themselves in the same boat as these brothers?

Nominal Christians fighting alongside Islamic fighters would need eyes in the back of their heads. When Yugoslavia was in the process of breaking up some mercenaries from the UK who had been fighting alongside Muslim forces were murdered by their erstwhile comrades

English mercenaries were hired for Angola in around 1975

There is legislation ensuring you cant sign up for any army besides her majesty's. And common law I think. And you can receive a medal from anyone else without the monarch's permission

Nelson was the last one to wear his bicorn, cross -ways. He looked "like a ship in full riggin as he came toward you" and also sported the Sultans order of the star ( or something ) on the hat at court even tho he had not had George's permission to wear it. dear dear

Col Callan was a trooper in the Paras who sold guns to the Loyalists before his ill fated sojourn in Africa. I think a handful of mercenaries were executed alongside him while others were quietly returned to the UK.
