Will you be sending less Christmas cards this year because of the cost of the postage?

Never send them anyway. I only buy cards to put money in and they're for people I see daily.
A pack of 10 decent quality cards - £2. 10 stamps - £6. Makes you think.
No. I bought 1,000 second class stamps a year or so ago just prior to the price rise before last. I'll reconsider when they run out.

However, I have to send just one abroad to Europe. Last year I think it cost me about 60p, this year £1.47. They may be getting a "Jacquie Lawson" e-card next year!
No wonder Im always being told 'we only have 1st class' !!
Back in 1959 you could send 57 cards for the price of sending one today; 72 if you didn't lick and seal the envelope.

Yes, I remember that quirky old feature - you just tucked the flap inside. Such nostalgia.
This will be my last year sending cards. As from next year, I'll be using Jacquie Lawson e cards. I don't begrudge sending cards but I resent very much, the cost of the postage, especially now that it's all been privatised. As for this year's lot, they're all written,, stamped and will be posted out on Monday Dec 1st. Ho Ho Ho...
I remember my mother grumbling back in 1957 when the price of a stamp was increased from 2½d (1p) to 3d (1.25p)
Oh Blackie, yes. My Mum too. " Well, that's the last letter I'LL be sending !!"
Also in 1957 when the government removed the bread subsidy and the price of a loaf went up from 6d (2½p) to 7½d (3.13p)
I recall the outrage when my local bakery in the 50s put bread up to 10d. Housewives just stopped buying it in protest The price came back down .. a bit.
No, won't be sending any less.
down here the cards are cheaper than the post £6 for 15.....whistlefish - and that's ridiculous.
