Any suggestions for a natural remedy/buy over the counter to make me feel a bit brighter - had a bad year and everything getting me down at the moment. Thanks.

Book yourself a massage.
ann try and walk every day even if its cold and raining wrap up and get out walking and being in the fresh air will help , also ask your chemist if you can take kalms , i lost my mum nearly 13 years ago but it still hurts so much , take care xx
I agree with ruthann, exercise is a big help and walking in particular. It certainly eases my depression.
I have a friend who went to a bereavement group that helped her enormously.

Try a high strength vitamin B complex. Good for the nervous system...and mood.

The hospice that looked after my Mum at the end offered massage to all the bereaved family members.

I think it did.
Massage may well help - my daughters booked me a relaxing massage (lots of lavender) and I was so relaxed afterwards that I fell asleep! Get someone to take you and bring you back afterwards!
A bottle of Sauvignon Blanc
Indian head massage makes you feel uplifted.
Physical exercise is the most effective.

I would recommend unicycling. It engages the mind too.
