She wasn't happy with the result. The work was uneven and some spots were cut so close you could see the skin. She didn't complain thinking that might have cost the young girl who did the work her job. She'll just not go back there.
What would you have done?

Buy a coat for the dog and never go back to THAT pooch parlour ever again.
much the same as jan, perhaps the young girl was learning the job, but using the clients to practice on .... not for me !!
You learn by experience.
I would take the dog back to the groomers and speak to the owner about my concerns. The girl will not learn by her mistakes unless someone points them out.
if she was a learner wouldn't a senior watch over her ? i would go back and have a chat with the boss .,stressing you don't want the youngster to get into bother .
Difficult one. Failing to address it means the girl will ruin at least one more dog, but jobs are hard to come by these days so a complaint might harm the girl instead.

What would I have done ? Blamed the poodle.
My opinion would be it'll grow back. She probably knew she'd made a mistake and hopefully learn from it.
I'm with Tilly on this one!
A difficult one but if I were the owner of the business I'd want to know why clients were not returning - dog grooming services is a fairly competitive market isn't it? If she was a learner then it's the responsibility of the manager to ensure her work is satisfactory surely?
It's just like a bad hair cut....
If I got a satisfactory response from the owner and maybe a discounted clip next time, I think I would be happy to return, everybody is allowed a mistake or two, we just need to acknowledge it and make amends.

I agree with Ummm. It's just like bad haircut. I gave her the number of a clipping service that has links with a local vets practise. They do a good job.
I`d probably have said something (tactfully) while I was there. It`s not doing the salon or the customers any favours if peoples` animals are leaving the salon with a bad cut.
^^ I got a bad hair cut once. I didn't realise how bad it was until I walked into the pub and 4 mates jumped to their feet gave a Nazi salute and shouted 'Heil Hitler'
I think most of us agree with Ummmm, it's no big deal to the dog - however by giving her an alternative groomers to go this place has lost business and doesn't know why - as I said, if you were the owner trying to make a go of it wouldn't you want to know why you were losing custom?
Difficult one. I too wouldn't want to get the girl the sack, but perhaps its better that the employer knows, rather than lose the Customers, without finding out why.

Personally, I would go back and tell the Employer.
Agree with ummmm's post @ 09.55.
Agree with Tilly.
The only thing that would maybe concern me is the possibility of her cutting the coat too short and, maybe, cutting the skin.

Other than that I would not have been upset about it.

I wonder if the do cat grooming, I suppose the groomer would need gauntlets and maybe eye protection.
