just watched the interview with david haines wife. my heart really goes out to his family. i just hate everything these radical muslims stand for i hate them with every bit of my being.

While I have no time for these radical Muslims, remember that many nations (including the UK) have used terror and murder as part of their history.

Look at the use of Agent Orange by the USA in Vietnam in the 1960s.

Agent Orange was sprayed on trees and other foliage to remove the canopy of trees the Vietnamese were hiding under.

But it had caused huge problems since the Vietnam war with thousands of deformed children being born and so on.

In fact you can sometimes understand why some of these people hate "the West" as we have been pretty awful to some of these "poorer" countries in the last 100 years or so.

Some of the activities of "the West" are shocking, like the overthrow of governments we did not like, such as the invasion of Grenada because a person we did not like had taken control.

So while I don't condone anything these radical Muslims do (I hate them as much as you do) we cant sit back and pat ourselves on the back at how wonderful we have been in the recent past.

1. I am not a do-gooder. I am an atheist who tries to see the good in my fellow humans. As a country we 'have' done some deplorable things to others of our species. We have, hopefully, learned that this behaviour is unacceptable. I believe that our country and its citizens today are, mostly, honourable and well intentioned.

We can't deny our past.

2. This in no way excuses the behaviour or the radical Muslims. They say that they are fighting a war with us. They are not honourable and they are a vicious bunch of *@****ds who are murdering people in a cruel and sadistic way. They have to be stopped.

what the *** has that got to do with anything today...on that basis you could quote just about every and any historical event as a justification for something that happens x hundreds or thousands of years down the line....
