I have waited three days and today I have had an Email asking for passport details bank Details proof of address ect. Is this normal I don't like giving my mobile number these days With all the data hackers out there Any advice please chris

It may well be necessary for Ladbroke's to obtain such information in order to comply with anti-money laundering legislation. If you doubt the genuineness of an email (apparently) from Ladbroke's phone [phone] to check whether it's genuine or not.

Why would they want your passport details? I doubt Ladbrokes have the facility or permission to check your passport details against the Government`s database.

Ask yourself why they request bank details AND home address rather than complying with your request to pay via PayPal.

That's the whole point of using PayPal.

Check your email viewer menu options and see if you can find one called "view header information".

I have a ladbrokes account and any winnings are left on the account. When I want to withdraw them I always choose the debit card option. I don't remember being aksed for ID when I set the facility up, but have definitely not been asked for ID with either a win or a withdrawal. In fact I have neve had an eamil about teh winnings, onky emails I receive are promotional ones.

The advice about being cautious is of course good, but if the email was clearly addressed to you by name and was in response to your withdrawal request then I think the request is likely to be genuine. But you can contact Ladbrokes via your online account secure message to check. I am sure I had to do the same to withdraw

When I set up my totepool account I had to provide my passport and I sent it as a scanned copy. My winnings get paid into my current account which is attached to the account.

Despite all the above, I'd be extremely cautious. The information asked for seems way over the top for such a small payout. How is anyone going to be involved in money laundering with £400? Definitely find something you are absolutely certain is a genuine Ladbroke's phone number & quiz them about the reasons they want this before you comply.
