File Sharing Or Dropbox Or Website

I need to share a LOT of documents - some text, some pdf, some jpegs (its all Family History stuff).

I want people to be able to access it remotely and download the stuff they want without me having to answer requests for "can you just send me this?". I also want people to be able to add their own stuff.

I tried a FB page, but that didnt work for the older generation because they dont have FB accounts. I was thinking about dropbox, but that only gives 2gb and it looks like you cant easily interact with each other.

I dont want it available to the world at large - just family members.

I dont know where to start (having looked at all the family tree type things out there, I am not convinced that will work either).

Any ideas? Oh and it needs to be free (or cheap!)

Just a thought, maybe shove it all on a spare PC you have at home and let them access it via TeamViewer ?
