For the first time in 2 years we will not be going to Bodrum in turkey for our summer holiday, even though i am looking forward to my holiday in spain i shall really miss the place .As anybody been to Bodrum ? What did you think of the place ?

Well we landed in Bodrum and then embarked on a 4 and a half hour transfer to Marmaris.I hated Marmaris - you never saw young women out and the men just crawled over you - they even stroked my the 13 yr old daughters hair until my husband put them right o n numerous occasions..

In saying that although I would never go back I know people who have holidayed in Bodrum and they loved it - yet we thought it was just an Army Base!

Where in Spain are you going if you dont mind me asking as we have just bought a house in Spain?

We love the Spain where we have bought and the resorts are perfect for a week or two - cater for eveyone and dirt cheap (like Turkey - loved the Bazaars - just had to ignore the dirty old men cos we were getting good quality fakes:))

Hi Drisgirl , I know what you mean about the airport it is like an army base , very strict.

We are going to cala dor in majorca , we are taking my niece who is 12 ,she get's very bored easily so we had to find a place where it would keep her amused.Where is your house in spain ?

Its on the Mar Manor - kinda South Eastish.Have you heard of La Manga Golf Resort - well we're about 10 mins from there.Main town is Los Alcazeres (bet I've spelt that wrong) - its so gorgeous.I've been to Majorca and the the place you're going to and its stunning - have loads of fun x

Hi Drisgirl , is that in marbia (not sure spelt right). My sister went to a golf resort in marbia last friday to tuesday. Got to be honest she didn't like marbia but liked the hotel. She went along with my niece and her male friend ,she now hates golf.

Thanks for saying where we are going is ok , I have never really fancied spain for a holiday so was a bit unsure, but i have had positive feedback lol

Casa - non.Je ne comprend pas.

Inej - No its no where nr Marbella - well maybe a 3 or 4 hr along the coast.Dont fancy the Costa del Sol myself but we're in the Costa Calida. - more rural - the true Spain.Have a brill holiday - you will have a brill time!!

I know a few people that have been to Bodrum & they all loved it there.

I do love Spain myself & used to go every year until i went to Hisaronu in Turkey, now i don't want to go anywhere else but there!
