Have just seen the above in Tesco for £10. Are they any good?
What sort of things would you cook in them.
There are only two of us. Would it be cost effective.

Thank you

Soups, stews, curries. Very economical costing pennies. Also you can use cheap cuts of meat as slow cooking ensures tenderness.
I discovered slow cookers years ago when I was living by myself.I gradually discovered you can cook almost anything in them, just chuck the ingredients in switch it on to low before going to work and come in to a hot meal.
As postdog says very useful fill it up turn on and 6/8 hours later meal done economically and only one pot to wash up.
Yes, they are very good. They are cost- but particularly time- effective. Put food in, leave it for a few hours with no attention. Soups, stews etc. as above but also chicken (whole or joints) with just 2cm of liquid in the bottom.
Experiment, just don't let it go dry or rush it - common sense really.
Only two of us as well, but we've got a freezer!
Buy it today.

Thank you all. I think I will invest £10 at Tesco.
Another vote for slow cookers. If there are only two of you though, and kitchen space is at a premium, you can get a compact one at amazon, its a bit dearer though.

Upgraded to one from QVC it is pressure cooker (another useful appliance) and slow cooker - think it is from the cooks essential range
