They are well within their best before date though they have been kept (unopened) for a while. I know the bloom is not harmful but they don't taste the same. Any suggestions to improve them?

You could always try going over them with a hot knife to refresh the chocolate.

that would be a first for chocolate biscuits in my house
Lol Danny...
They will not melt if on lowest heat for about 5 minutes
warm chocolate biscuits sound delicious, i'll tell her indoors that's how i'd like them in the future ...

I'd eat two at a time to get the full flavour back.

It seems extravagant to heat the oven for 1 choc biscuit, and you know what would happen if I heated more than 1!
The only reason they've lasted this long is that I buy lots when on offer (can't risk running out).
I've experimented with a microwave (no effect at all), and a hot but turned off grill (some effect, maybe I didn't leave it long enough).

More experiments are called for, all in the cause of science.
you never did choc-production at primary skool ?

The sugar has crystallised out - I dont think you can reverse it

eat and destroy ( or send them to me, and I will er send them to Ukraine/Siberia/Sierra Leone )

I might try the hot knife. Grilling until just melting is OK too.
Yes, I knew some component of the choc late had crystallised, but the texture affects the taste.
