Iphone Goes To Voicemail

For some reason my phone goes straight to voicemail but only for certain calls

How on earth do I turn this off?

Have you tried switching off the phone completely and switching back on ? Rebooting in other words

Have you got it on Do Not Disturb mode ?

Make sure you do not have the phone switch to mute. Make sure you do not have "Do not Disturb'" on.

Which version of iOS are you using?

I've only just updated that
It's not on do not disturb
I've just taken one call and then looked
I'd missed 2

I've switched off and powered up again

Maybe they called you when you were talking to someone else ?

Make sure that iPhone’s Ring/Silent switch is OFF meaning ringer is ON. A bell will flash briefly on the screen when you turn on the ringer.

Make sure that Airplane Mode is OFF (Settings > Airplane Mode).

Have you got "call waiting" activated?

If you have call waiting activated, when you get another call while you are talking, the you will get a sign and you can switch calls. I would leave it activated.
