Bit of a none story really. Alleged offences from up to 50 years ago only reported this year. Bit difficult to talk to the accused when they are both dead. Some people are only going to be satisfied if we do an "Oliver Cromwell" with Savile - dig him up, hang him and mutilate the body.

YMG...the truth that is emerging is that the Police could have done something but took a decision not to, therefore allowing the abuse to continue.

So, if there was "sufficient evidence" why didn't the Police act ? This abuse went on for 40 years. If the Police had acted, some victims would have been saved their ordeal. Kennedy is quite open about his Forces failure to act, but isn't so open about why the enquiry "found no evidence of misconduct"
Its a disgrace and yet again, no body seems to be at fault !
I think its about time the practise of the Police investigating themselves is discontinued, as it is getting us nowhere.

Non-story ? Can't see what is a "non-story" here. Isn't it important that we find out what went wrong in the past, so that we can prevent the same mistakes being made now ? This report comes out after a 10 months Enquiry :::

Paedophiles are active all over Britain, every day. This last week has been three high profile cases successfully prosecuted in the Courts. I realise that both Savile and Jaconelli are now dead but I want to know why the Police didn't investigate properly when they were alive.
Are you satisfied, that if similar activities were unearthed today, you could trust the Police and others to pull their fingers out and get on with the a proper investigation ?

Instead of continually swiping at the police mikey for failing to act on the subject you have a curious appetite for you might consider Governmental pressure might have been brought to bear on them. Heaven help us if it were a Labour government at the time.

We may be crossing in the post here. There is no indication that there is any BBC bias here whatsoever. Listen to Kennedy. Are you suggesting that the BBC made this up ? Why would they do that ? Would you have preferred it if they had ignored the Report by the North Yorkshire Police ? Shooting the BBC as well as me now are you !
A politically correct agenda foisted on the police by,er,politicians maybe. Cyril Smith. He was a politician wasn't he. Course you know he is don't you. You are the one continually urging us to buy his book. There will probably be some more high profile cases arising from police investigations and they could well be MORE politicians. A few years ago, particularly, in County Constabularys it was the local government and watch committees that the Chief Constables had to dance to their tunes.
If certain politicians kept their noses out of police investigations more cases could well of been uncovered. Political meddling for their own nefarious reasons hampered the police a lot of the time. It was common knowledge within Thames Valley Police,according to an aquaintance who served their,that an arrest was to be made on Saville. The detective who had amassed more than sufficient evidence was told to drop the case or else by a most senior officer who,in turn, had political pressure placed upon him.

I am not changing the subject. You asked why the police allowed child abuse to go on in Scarborough(1255). I replied in length at 1314 that a lot of investigations by police were stifled because of POLITICAL interference for their own nefarious reasons. A vast knowledge indeed. Bet you could draw me a floor plan of the Guest House couldn't you mikey. Come on give us a tip. Who is the next high profile figure to be arrested in Yewtree. Better still give the police your information as you seem to think you know better than them how to investigate a paedophile ring.
