OG...you very kindly pointed me in the direction of Character Map earlier this month ( http://charmap.online-toolz.com/tools/character-map.php )

I am finding it very useful but I keep getting a floating dialogue box, which is interfering with me trying to cut and paste anything. Is there any way that I can suppress this please ?

charmap is meant to be an integral part of MS Windows. Often found in the Accessories / System Tools menu (or a search will bring it up).

I'll have to look at the link, see what you have.

Yep, you found that one on your own ;-)

The info box comes up beneath the selected character though on that webpage though so you should be able to avoid too much trouble if you select moving the cursor upwards.
