Adding Text To Photos On Nexus

Hi Gang, my grey matter seems to be evaporating, its either age, the season or me recovering from a Prostate Cancer op - or maybe a combo of all 3! Anyway I'd like some help/advice/ideas, please.
Have bought Darling wife a digital photo frame, as she's always complaining about not seeing family photos on facebook or getting prints. I thought I'd copy some (with everyone's blessing, of course) . Using my Nexus, as its easier to be a bit covert, and will transfer it all onto memory cards/USB sticks to go along with the frame. Is there an easy way of adding text to the photos in Nexus (dates names etc) Or can I get the family to title their pics and send them on to me? Look forward to your ideas/tips. Sorry to be so lengthy. Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year all ;)

I've seen android apps that claim to add text to photos. Maybe browse the Play Store ?
