Yahoo Mail is now so awful that I am seriously thinking of abandoning it altogether. I first had my email in 1995, and I am loath to go to all the trouble of changing over to Gmail, but Yahoo is sometimes effectively completely b u g g e r e d up !

I've been using gmx for a few years since I decided to be rid of google and it hasn't let me down yet (some others on AB also use it).

It's quite straightforward to replace one mailbox with another and provides an opportunity to be totally rid of junk - open the new account but keep monitoring the old one for a month or two or however long you want and let any worthwhile correspondents know the new address; after a suitable time make the decision to remove the old one or just don't bother checking it again because all the people with whom you want to keep in contact will be sending to the new address.
