Completely unscientific (and rather unxexpected given my predilection for good wine and Malt Scotch) but the jury at Chateau Ensoleillé has awarded this years prize to

An astonishingly good spiced rum - I have to admit I bought it because the bottle looked marvellous, but the drink inside is pure after-dinner nectar.

It can be a tad gassy but it's refreshing(ly) low in cals ;)
Failing that Kingfisher lager is a good buy in any Spoons , not as gassy.
Can't beat though,an ice cold Tennants though...tried and tested and it hits the spot every time !
I'm not a wine buff nor a spirit lover although as it's Christmas Eve i've indulged in a Glenmorangie...on the back of recommendations from my disastrous attempt at Laphroaig last week.Very pleasant indeed , I indulged a few years back but swore myself off spirits, did nothing for me, firewater stuff, so it was a welcome night cap this evening :) Slainté !
