took it to a good reputable jewellers and i was relly pleased to get back £360 .some was silver,broken chains,missing earings,few bangles and bracelets,2 wedding rings(been married twice)i done well,i am getting my son a chain for his xmas and the guy said if i get it out of his shop he will give it to me for £200,which would cost about £250/£300 in another jewellers.did i do good?????????

I had bits of broken chains, odd earrings, bent rings etc. I got £100 for them. Was well pleased.

China, find a reputable independent jewellers. My oh works in one (which is unfortunately nowhere near where you live) and they give very fair prices for gold and silver. Avoid the 'we buy gold' places!

my x took it into a few shops and that was the best price he got,i will text him and find out what jewellers it is,welshi said the gold prices are good just now.

|Now is a good time to sell gold. Price is still quite high. Kruger rands are fine gold. would take them to coin or specialist dealer not the gold buyers in the mall.

I've sold alot of my jewellery over the years and I found Ramsdens offered me a worse deal than one of the online companies.
Compare, Cash For Your Gold price per gram compared to Ramsdens. They give a much better deal because they don't have to pay for advertising and all their shops.

CFYG - £12.70/g for 9 carat gold
Ramsdens - £10.00/g for 9 carat gold.

CFYG - 999ag is £0.60. Couldn't find out on line about Ramsdens silver prices but silver doesn't command such high prices as gold.

Good, reputable jewellers sell the gold to gold dealers and so they still have to make a profit on the deal hence you won't get such a good price.
I had some 18 ct gold scrap from a necklace I had shortened. My jeweller offered me £112 for the gold but I got £125 from CFYG.
