Don't forget....its Lynda's production of "Blithe Spirit" this afternoon, at 14:15 on Radio 4. Lynda Snell and Noel Coward, on Boxing Day....what a perfect combination !

I was an avid long-term ( I even remember Norah) Archers' fan until Nigel's dying scream. I abandoned them until I reckoned that fuss would have died down, then turned back on again, only to hear " your baby will definitely have Down's syndrome". That was it - I have avoided this mess of rumpuses and sensationalism ever since.
I'm looking forward to it, but I wish Lillian was still in the cast. At least her voice is distinctive, nowadays I never sure if I'm listening to Helen or Pip!
I'm away and when I get back I will have missed 3 weeks worth and need a serious catch up. Are Ruth and David still selling?
Apparently Prudie, but I am yet to be convinced.
That's how I feel Pooka simply because I can't see two major characters leaving the show - which the move would make inevitable.

But Jill has finally said that she is NOT going. She doesn't want to be so far away from Phil, and who can blame her ? I suspect that the pressure on David and Ruth will steadily mount until they themselves realise that moving Oop North just can't, and won't happen.

My money is still on "Pet" falling down the stairs and breaking her neck, thus obviating any real need to leave Ambridge at all. That frightful oik that wants to knock Brookfield down and build a ghastly modern "Stately Home" can
b u g g e r off out of it and leave us in peace !

Well, that was wonderful ! I can't remember when I last enjoyed a Radio play as much !
I'll listen to it all in the omnibus.

By the way Prudie, Lillian is still in the cast - she sounds like Mrs Overall.
Sorry, Pooka, not Prudie.
I posted on 'media-radio section' earlier how much I enjoyed 'Blithe Spirit' (thanks again to all those who enabled me to hear it). Linda was a brilliant Mme. Arcate! Wasn't it interesting doing the mind-twists throughout to see the characters playing the characters!
Didn't know that Jill has finally said 'No!' - don't blame her - knocking the old farmhouse down is a step too far! I can also see Heather taking a final, fatal tumble, alas.....
He never said he was going to knock the farmhouse down, did he?
I'm fairly sure that I heard that that was the plan - mind you, I listen on Sunday and am busy at the same time - because he was going to build the new mansion on the site, easier for planning permission. I'm always ready to stand to be corrected, but I remain certain, until otherwise convinced!
I think that you are right jourdain, thats what I understood his plan was.
BTW though, apparently it was mentioned that Brookfield is a listed building so I don't know if or how that will have any bearing.
Didn't Justin just ask for his architect to see the building, to start planning alterations?
I remember that Hopkirk, but at the time I had the idea that he was covering his real plans, which I'd heard earlier....... well there is reality and then there is The Archers..........Happy rest of Xmas!
Quite a polished performance of B.S. mikey. Could it be that these bucolic denizens of Ambridge are really actors? My illusions are shattered.

B.H. is also brassed off with the sensationalism that has taken over and threatens to stop listening, which is a blow as she may stop doing the dishes while it's playing in the kitchen.
