Scum.....
15 Answers
Some rotten scumbag broke into a relatives house last night while they slept upstairs.
First they knew was when they came down to the door wide open and a window. Nothing was taken so the police are suggesting "they" were disturbed.
Nowt new in this sort of thing, unfortunately, but when its local and relatives it makes it worse.
People who do this sort of thing want there fingers chopping off..scumbags.

It must feel awful to realise someone uninvited has been on your home and taken things.
The law just isn't tough enough on these scroats to put any fear into them. Slap o the wrist and away you go...only to do it again.

That sounds awful. Our village is plagued with crime which is why we have 19 CCTV cameras and floodlights attached to alarms inside the house which alert us to people coming within even 10 metres of the property.
We've had 4 people arrested and charged (one of which died of cancer before making it to prison) and 7 people charged for fly tipping. No one is stupid enough to attempt to get into our house but the garden seems to be far game for them.
A few years back I was upstairs on my PC with the CCTV running in the background and watched 2 lads dressed in dark clothing climb over my front fence. I didn't bother with 999 because all they were doing was trespassing. So I rang the local police switchboard and asked for operations. I reported that 2 youths (one carrying a knife, as he was) we on my property and I felt threatened.
To cut a long story short it took the police 45 minutes to turn up and when they did it was only one officer who didn't trust me (because it was dark). It probably didn't help that I hide the keys under the bin (just in case I got knobbled by the two lads, at least then they could take my keys from me and get inside - always thinking me!). I even had a walking stick and put on a fake limp ;) a perfect weapon should I require it.
