Its for my grandsons birthday, and there is only to be 50,000 minted.

What do you think it would be worth in 15 years time when he is 18 yrs old?

Probably about £100 but in 50+ years it could be worth a lot more.

They are issuing 50,000 in the run , so not extremely rare but it will depend on what collectors will pay and what the price for 2 ounces of silver is at the time of selling.

I also think about £100. I was given a Churchill crown (or was it £5?) as a child. I have lost it but don't think it ended up being worth anymore today.

I agree with Prudie - I believe the Churchill crown is still worth not vastly much more than I paid for it - they're going for about £1 on eBay. I bought several Queen Mother crowns when they were issued too - they're going for about the same, more if they are in a case. Mine aren't.

It's intrinsic value will be its face value: 100 pounds. I doubt very much that in 15 years its "collectible" value will have increased. I don't think that the price of silver will give it much bullion value at all. However, since it's from grandad, it should have a lot of sentimental value.
