should i be worried

I have a 7year old Boxer dog, recently a bald patch has appeared on his body and does not appear to be growing back, anyone have any idea what this could be, it doesnt seem to bother him and he doesnt scratch it

If it helps my boss has a boxer who has bald patches the vet said it was alopecia, likewise another friend has a doberman with the same condition. Afraid it doesn't grow back. Best to check with a vet if your worried though.
