Striking In The New Year.

This clock that I "rescued" is now ready to strike in 2015. I completely disassembled the movement; cleaned it; reassembled it; made some adjustments; oiled it; and did some cosmetic work on the case. It's around 90 years old (which is not really that old for a clock), and I bet it hasn't struck a new year in for many a year. http://i57.tinypic.com/1huivp.jpg

I found your site. Some nice looking 'stuff" you have. I think that the Greyshott clock is an electro-mechanical clock and not quartz. Is it powered by an AA battery? If so, it's not quartz.

German manufacturers make very durable electro-mechanical movements. I would say if your clock contains one of these it should increase its value somewhat.

stuey -thankyou for that -can you tell me the difference as I just got the description from google and it said 'quartz movement'. I like to get my descriptions right -my ignorance extends to wind up clocky things and 'you put a battery in them lol!
