Hi, I'm trying to contact PayPal.com.uk in oder to update my account details (as requested by them) but keep getting a reply from PayPal Inc. [US] stating, "Access denied on this server". Cannot seem to be able to contact PayPal.com.uk by any means.

Here are some replies to the suggestions:-
Grasscarp, I tried what you said and got DENIED. Also cannot get to the web site therefore cannot log-in as I would normally do.
Dizmo, I regularly use CC cleaner, Malwarebytes and Super anti spyware which only return a few ad cookies.
Boxtops, Went to your suggested site via the link and, again, got DENIED.
Everything I try is denied by Paypal Inc.[US] which uses Verisign security so it must obviously be the scam e-mails I've received in the past which are getting blocked by Verisign
Thanks again folks, but I'll leave Paypal alone until I find that I definitely need it, maybe in the future.
Gratefully yours, Wak.

This is not a techy answer ... but just explaining my similar situation and how I got around it.
Having used XP and Outlook Express since it first arrived on the scene.
I was very reluctant to let it slip away just because XP was no longer supported by Microsoft, I had been happy and comfortable with XP, compared to the other more recent operating systems around.
Up until a couple of months ago I kept getting more and more warnings from Paypal saying "my browser needed to be updated"... I often couldn't sign in . At the time I was using XP pro and Outlook Express 7. I was also getting warnings from MS about the operating system being unsupported. Fed up getting error codes saying " report to Microsoft" about the errors ?
(At the time I was pretty busy on eBay and using Paypal constantly).
The bullet was bit and I installed a new hard drive and windows 7 ... it comes with Explorer 11 as the browser. I must admit there was some bad language as I struggled with it initially. But now 2 months on the difference is amazing. No more warnings about errors and Ebay is unreal to use as photos upload in seconds.
It may well be time to upgrade your operating system, especially as your problem is financial security.
Like I said .. not a techy answer .. just your problem sounds very similar to the one I had !

Hi Alavahalf, I appreciate what you are saying as I, too, am hanging on to Windows XP as long as possible. Everything else seems to run fine apart from this blip with Paypal. I've also just noticed that some of the e-mails come from "service@paypal" and address me as "Dear (my name) which Paypal say that they do not follow this custom so it is obviously a scam.
If things do slow down too much then I will obviously have to change so you may see another "Help" from me in the near future.
Many thanks for your input and interest.

One more thing it may be on interest as you are still running XP.
About 3 months ago I got an update from Microsoft, at the time I thought it was unusual as I hadn't had one for at least 6 months. (as XP support ended in April 2014 .. I think).
The update was genuine and I installed it. Like you I was having a few problems and I tried to restore my system to an earlier date, as I have done so many times in the past.
After trying many times I found I could no longer use the restore feature, it had somehow become useless ... up until I installed this final update it had been working fine, so I can only assume the update had disabled it.
I'm sure you are aware that if you installed something that caused a problem with your system, the normal procedure would be to restore your system to an earlier point before the problem download was installed, using the system restore feature ... with this no longer available I had no option but to upgrade to Windows 7.
This might get a bit of interest ... Microsoft Windows 7 Support ends in 2 weeks time on ..13/01/2015
Windows 7 extended support ends..14/01/2020
That gives us 5 years to grapple with Windows 8.1 ... I think it will take at least that.

The e-mail I mentioned above goes back to 2013 so I don't think I'll bother with a restore this time, It will be easier to just ignore Paypal until later. I'm dreading having to upgrade though, Why can't they just improve XL to current requirements???
Cheers,
Wak.
