I have just completed the new style crossword in Saga Magazine - and I am not impressed! The crossword used to be one that really gave the old brain cells a workout and was the highlight of the magazine for me. No more! I will be cancelling my subscription tomorrow and making sure I tell them why!

Couldn't agree more - the old crossword was such a great challenge and half the fun of cracking it was "putting the magazine down, thinking about the clue(s) as you did the day's chores, picking it up again - the Saga mag was "vibrant". Today I picked it up, and about 45mins later put it on the shelf to read later - crossword done, and SAGA forgotten. Worst move ever by the Editor to release Mr Cullen from the scene.All those in favour of Mr Cullen's return add to this little moan - Happy New Year to all !

I have rung this morning and cancelled my subscription and told them in no uncertain terms my reasons. I have also emailed the editor of the mag to tell her. I hope others are doing likewise; if they get enough cancellations maybe they will have a rethink and reinstate Cullen. The person taking my call this morning did say they are actively gathering feedback - well they got mine loud and clear!
