More evidence that the rantings and ravings of those who predicted a flood of immigrants were completely wrong:

If the Romanians and Bulgarians are agricultural workers, then you would expect more of them in spring/summer and then less in autumn/winter. We should look at 4 quarters and compare it to the previous year, rather than cherry pick the highest quarter.

I'm looking, I'm looking......and?
Baz,
Why do you regard Oxford University as biased? Can you give a previous example which leads you to hat conclusion.

This organisation is not funded by the University or the taxpayer, but by independent sources.
That's what I mean, though, AOG. By that article it's clear that Nigel Farage exaggerated Romanian/ Bulgarian immigration figures by a factor of ten. That's a massive error -- and yet, if he hadn't made it, and stuck to more reasonable estimates of the influx of migrants, then he might still have had a point about immigration in this country.

But the mistake, serious as it is, undermines his position, and all those who would wish to leave the EU. In a proper debate, especially as it's those wishing to leave the EU that want to change things, that side needs to present its case accurately, and it's not doing that at the moment.
All this Oxford-bashing surprises me (well, as a true Cambridge man, it doesn't really) -- but, in all seriousness, I'm confused as to what it's based on. Oxford remains one of the most brilliant universities in the world, as it has been for 900-odd years. And yet any figures preceded by "from Oxford University" are instantly dismissed, without further justification? More needed please.

The "loony left brigade" were mostly at Cambridge anyway, rather than Oxford, if that's what the reasoning was going to be.

Hardly factual tho is it Jim?

I am sure not everyone will agree with me, but Its how I feel. If we go all over the world to live and work and to better our lives in some way, why can't Romanians and Bulgarians do the same by coming to England?
I've just done the maths from the BBC News site and there are 2.5 million Brits living across Europe.....starts to put the Romanians (190,000 in perspective).....
As the spelling police all seem to be on holiday, could I point out that the correct word is hordes and not hoards.

I agree with you Lostsoulx, bu then I don't feel I have ownership of any part of the planet we all live on.
Hippie dippie if you will, but I prefer it that way rather than my ears steaming at every mention of "Johnny Foreigner".
Frognog, I like your way of thinking, I wish more people thought the way you do.
